Presidents' Letter
Dear NSSLA Members,
Welcome back to another year of NSSLA programming; it’s August once again! We hope that the summer brought you time for happy, healthy, and peaceful relaxation with your family and friends. As we kick off the new programming year, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates and changes that we believe will enhance your experience as a member.
Membership Dues Decrease: We are pleased to announce that annual membership dues will be decreasing from $50 to $30. We hope this reduction makes it even easier for you to stay connected and involved with our organization.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs): This year, we will be providing 5 ASHA CEU hours across two presentations. The first will be an in-person event in the fall, and the second will be a webinar in the spring. We look forward to offering these diverse formats to accommodate various preferences and schedules.
Social Networking Events: Following our highly rated Improv presentation last May, where members had the opportunity to meet and greet in a social setting, we are excited to introduce up to three additional social networking events this year. These events are designed to help local SLPs continue to connect and collaborate in a casual, fun environment.
The first social event will be held on September 10th at 6:30-8:30 PM at The Fat Shallot in Evanston located at 2902 Central St, Evanston, IL 60201. Please share with anyone who is interested and let them know about this free kickoff event!
As always, membership forms will be submitted electronically following receipt of payment. You can either send a paper check to the address listed in the email and on the website, or you may submit your payment using Zelle. Please review the information posted on the website and distributed in our welcome back materials sent to your email for further details on how to register. The most up-to-date information regarding program format, registration, and sign-in/sign-out protocols will be regularly posted on the NSSLA website, Facebook page and sent to your email.
Thank you all for your ongoing input as NSSLA grows and evolves. Our never-ending gratitude is also expressed to the current and past volunteer members of the Board of Directors for everything they do to allow us to continue programming. We could not do this without each and every one of you!
Here is to another wonderful year ahead!
Warm regards,
